COMMUNITY PROGRAMS & SPONSORSHIPS
DATS is involved in several community programs and provides sponsorship to the following organisations:
Surf Life Saving Nippers at Bondi, North Steyne & Freshwater.
DATS has committed to a sponsorship program over a three year period to the Nippers Clubs at Bondi, North Steyne & Freshwater Surf Lifesaving Clubs. These sponsorships include providing shade tents, equipment and uniforms to the Nippers and their age managers. They also include sponsorship of environmental programs such as an annual keep the beaches clean program and cash grants for environmental achievement.
Pittwater Natural Heritage Association.
DATS sponsors the Pittwater Natural Heritage Association Asparagus Fern Campaign. The sponsorship assists with the ongoing costs of clean-up campaigns carried out in conjunction with Pittwater Council, to assist in eradicating Asparagus Fern... currently an invasive species in natural bushland areas.
Coffee 4 Kids Foundation
DATS is one of the main contributors to the operating costs of the Coffee4Kids Foundation. Coffee4Kids is a unique, fully registered Deductible Gift Recipient Charitable Foundation, based on the simple idea of donating the value of a cup of coffee each week to support the health, safety and wellbeing of children.
The Foundation aims to partner with inspiring organisations, companies and individuals who are committed to making a difference to the lives of children. It is a workplace giving program. Individuals can contribute the value of a cup of coffee a week ($5.00 pre-tax).
Clean Up Australia Day
DATS donates bins to assist local community groups with their annual Clean Up Australia Day activities.
Hampers for Farmers
Over the past few years DATS has donated delivery services in the month of November to Hampers for Farmers, an initiative of the Christian City Church. DATS facilitates the distribution of Christmas Hampers to farming communities in need during times of drought, etc. and provides bulk hook lift bins to facilitate recycling of sorted waste including paper, cardboard and plastics.
Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney
The Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney (ROYAL REHAB) is a highly specialised physical rehabilitation facility located within the Northern Sydney Area Health Service. It provides individual rehabilitation programs for adults with disabilities arising from;
- Spinal cord injury
- Traumatic brain injury
- Age related illness and disease
- Amputations
- Orthopaedic injury and illness
- Neurological illness
- Stroke
A high percentage of patients attend Royal Rehab due to workplace related injuries. DATS recently sponsored Royal Rehabilitation Centre’s major fundraiser of the year, the Charity Challenge, a golf day held at Twin Creeks Golf Course near Luddenham.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
DATS works on special projects which have included providing support for television programs on the 7 and 9 networks.
Network 7
Television programs on the 7 Network have included Better Homes & Gardens and The Outdoor Room.
Network 9
Television programs on the 9 Network have included Backyard Blitz, Renovation Rescue, Burkes Backyard, Battlefronts and Domestic Blitz. Working for the television networks requires a high level of coordination and sustainable work practices.
